Whether it’s a water main break, loss of water service, or another water-related emergency, Kittery Water District provides emergency response 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

During normal business hours, please contact our office directly. After hours, weekends, and holidays, emergency calls are handled through the Kittery Police Dispatch Center.

When Should I Call the Dispatch Center?

Call if you experience:

💧 No water service

🚰 A suspected water main break

🌊 Water flowing from the street or ground

🏠 Water leaking at the meter or other District-owned equipment

⚠️ Any situation involving public water that requires immediate attention

After-Hours Service

Some after-hours service requests may be subject to service charges when the issue is the responsibility of the property owner, including:

  • Frozen water meters or customer-owned plumbing due to neglect
  • Water service disconnection for non-payment
  • Other customer-responsible service requests
